I am God’s adopted son, Kristen’s husband, along with Mason (14) and Kenlee’s (11) dad. In the past I have helped plant a few churches and served on staff at churches in Austin and Houston. For a season I also led a small non-profit. Currently, I am the pastor of Redeemer Church in Denton, TX (HERE). Our family planted the church in our home in 2013. The Lord has blessed our efforts and the church is in the process of moving into its first building. In addition to my role at Redeemer Church I am also the Biblical Worldview Instructor to the seniors at Denton Calvary Academy (HERE) and a Certified Biblical Counselor at Covenant Biblical Counseling (HERE).
My undergraduate degree is from the University of North Texas. I also hold masters degrees from Midwestern Baptist Seminary (MTS), Dallas Seminary (MABS and MACE), Southwestern Baptist Seminary (MDiv), and Toronto Baptist Seminary (ThM). My doctorate (DMin) is from Southern Baptist Seminary in the areas of Expository Preaching. I have contributed chapters in the Particular Baptist Press’ Noble Company series on John Pitman (HERE) and Thomas Roberts (HERE). I have also contributed to Baptist Way Press Bible studies (HERE) and (HERE). Finally, I recently publish my first book on Thomas Patient (HERE).
I have a passion for God and thus theology and the Bible. I feel called to teach His Word and disciple men. Basically I am experiencing God’s grace and enjoying the journey.
